Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Ratekeel collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Ratekeel (ratekeel.com) is owned and operated by Ratekeel Media LLC, 1008 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 708, Los Angeles, CA 90017 ("we," "us," or "our").
What we do
We run online forms that connect people shopping for auto, home, or renters insurance (and, if they choose, a bundle of both) with insurance companies and licensed insurance agents, usually by phone. Those providers may confirm the information you give them using claims history reports and credit-based insurance scores. We are not an insurance company, agent, or broker. We don't sell insurance, give quotes, or decide coverage.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: name, street address, city, state, ZIP code, email address, and phone number.
- Vehicle details (auto form): number of vehicles, and each vehicle's year, make, model, and trim.
- Driver details (auto form): date of birth, gender, whether you're married, and whether you've had driving incidents in the last three years.
- Insurance and household details (auto form): whether you've had auto insurance in the past 30 days, your current insurer, how long you've been continuously insured, whether you own or rent your home, whether you or your spouse served in the US military, and whether you'd also like home insurance quotes.
- Home details (home form): whether you own, are buying, or rent your home; the type of home and how you use it; when you expect to close (if you're buying); when it was built, its approximate size and number of stories, and the roof's age; whether you have home insurance now and your current insurer; home insurance claims in the last three years; your date of birth and whether you're married; and whether you'd also like auto insurance quotes.
- We don't collect your credit report or score.
Information collected automatically
- IP address, approximate location based on IP, browser and device type, and the pages you view.
- How you move through the form, the website or ad that sent you here, and ad click identifiers.
- Information from cookies, pixels, and similar technologies, including the Meta Pixel.
Consent records
To document that you agreed to be contacted, we and our vendors (such as ActiveProspect TrustedForm and, where used, Verisk Jornaya) record your session on the form, including the consent language shown to you, your entries, and when you clicked to submit.
How we use information
- To call or text you about your request and connect you with insurance companies and licensed agents who can give you quotes.
- To create and keep records of your consent.
- To prevent fraud, spam, and duplicate requests.
- To measure and improve our advertising and our website.
- To respond to you and to comply with the law.
Who we share information with
- Insurance companies and licensed agents. When we connect you with an insurance company or licensed agent, you direct us to share the information you gave us with that company or agent so it can give you a quote. Each of them uses your information under its own privacy policy.
- Service providers that host our site, store data, certify consent, or help us detect fraud, under contracts that limit how they use it.
- Advertising platforms. We share limited data with Meta to measure and improve our ads: hashed contact details (such as email, phone, name, and address), cookie identifiers, IP address and browser type, the fact that a request was submitted, a single estimated dollar value we calculate for the request, whether we reached you by phone, and, if it later leads to a sale, the sale amount. We do not share your insurance or driving answers, birthdate, or gender with advertising platforms.
- Others when required. To comply with law or legal process, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, sale, or transfer of our business.
Your choices
- Calls and texts. You can revoke consent at any time. Tell the caller you don't want more calls, reply STOP to any text, or email [email protected]. Insurance companies or agents we connected you with manage their own contact lists, so you may need to tell them as well.
- Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale and sharing: we don't load the Meta Pixel and we don't send your data to Meta.

Sale and sharing. When you submit the form, you intentionally direct us to disclose your information to the insurance companies and agents we connect you with. We "share" identifiers and internet activity with advertising platforms for cross-context behavioral advertising, which you can opt out of. We do not knowingly sell or share the information of consumers under 16.
Sensitive information. We don't use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those the law allows.
Your rights. You can ask to know what we collected about you, get a copy of it, correct it, delete it, and opt out of sale or sharing. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
How to make a request. Use our Your Privacy Choices page or email [email protected]. We will verify your request by matching the email address or phone number you used on our form. You can use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of the agent's authority and confirm your identity directly.
Retention. We keep request information and consent records for five years so we can respond to questions or claims about your consent, then delete or de-identify them.
